Our Firm is looking for energetic, hard-working, skilled and dependable Accounting Technician to join our team. The candidate must be experienced with all aspects of Full Cycle Accounting, demonstrate the ability to maintain a diverse client base among various industries, and exhibit the ability to work independently, under pressure while managing tight deadlines.

Along with an aptitude for providing excellent customer service to our clients, the responsibilities of duties include:

  • Set up and maintain financial records using bookkeeping software such as QBO, QBD, Simply Accounting etc.
  • Bookkeeping
  • Preparation of fiscal year end using Caseware
  • Preparation of GST/HST and filing of WCB
  • Preparation of T-Slips
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly financial statements
  • Preparation of the Accounting working paper file
  • Preparation of Corporate and personal tax returns using Taxcycle
  • Estimation of personal tax payable
  • Calculation of payroll source deduction
  • Inquiries and correspondence with clients & CRA
  • Support to clients on general questions
  • Develop and formalize accounting systems and processes
  • Regular maintenance of client files, accounts and contact information.
  • Communicate, build and maintain lasting relationships with clients

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a fast-paced accounting firm
  • Accounting Certificate, diploma or Degree
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Quick Books, Sage Tax Cycle and CaseWare is required
  • High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis
  • High level of Problem Solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
  • Self-motivated when working on independent tasks
  • Professional Demeanor
