We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager for our Analytical Chemistry Department
.
In this key leadership role, you will oversee the
development, optimization, validation, and troubleshooting of advanced analytical methods
. You will work hands-on with a wide range of
chromatographic and spectrometric techniques
, while guiding a team of chemists and supporting cross-functional projects through
technical expertise and strategic contributions
.
Candidates must have demonstrated, hands-on experience in preparative HPLC — this expertise is essential for the role.
Applicants must also hold
Canadian citizenship or a valid Canadian work permit
.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of analytical chemists in
method development, purification, and instrumentation operation
. - Develop, optimize, and
validate HPLC and UPLC analytical methods
for complex chemical entities (small molecules, peptides, intermediates). - Design and execute
purification workflows
using normal-phase and reverse-phase preparative chromatography. - Draft, review, and approve
analytical protocols, SOPs, and reports
, ensuring compliance with
internal quality standards
. - Troubleshoot analytical issues and ensure
robust, reproducible data generation
. - Oversee
routine maintenance, calibration, and qualification
of analytical equipment (UPLC, preparative LC, UV, MS). - Configure and support
LC-UV-MS platforms
, including software setup, data management, and integration. - Lead onboarding and training of new team members on instrumentation, safety, and analytical procedures.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and actively participate in
technical reviews, project meetings, and strategic discussions
.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or related field.
- Minimum
5+ years of experience
in analytical chemistry, including
at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
. - Strong expertise in
HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS
, and purification techniques. - Proven experience in
method development, validation, and troubleshooting
. - Excellent understanding of
instrument maintenance, qualification, and data integrity principles
. - Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
