Dr. Smaily Dentistry is seeking a dental assistant to join our family practice; we are searching for the right candidate who is passionate about dentistry and patient care. This role presents the opportunity for further growth and ongoing continuing education.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including examinations, restorations, endodontics, orthodontic, surgical and implants

  • Taking digital dental radiographs (bitewings, periapical and panoramic films)

  • Prepare/turnover treatment rooms well ensuring proper protocol and efficiency

  • Sterilizing dental instruments; complying with health and safety regulations, following IPAC protocol

  • Stocking inventory and maintaining a system of items that need to be ordered

  • Provide patients with dental education, reviewing post-operative instructions

  • Taking proper diagnostic models including dental impressions and TRIOS

Skills:

  • Clear understanding of dental terminology and procedures; ability to communicate and explain to patients.

  • Experience with the dental software "Tracker" is considered an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team player mindset

  • Previous dental assistant experience is considered an asset, but new graduates are welcome as well

For applicants, please note that we are requesting a Canadian certificate in dental assisting/harp to be considered for this position. Pay will be based upon dental experience and skills.
