Job Title: Procurement Specialist (Non-IT) – Intermediate

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 4:30 PM (Alberta Time)

Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

Start Date: November 2025

Interview Window: November 17–20, 2025

Engagement Model: Per-Worker / Onsite.

Key Responsibilities

Solicitation Document Preparation

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Research and refine business, operational, and technical requirements.
  • Draft and coordinate detailed solicitation documents (RFI, RFP, RFQ) for stakeholder review.
  • Identify potential subprojects requiring separate vendor solicitations.
  • Interpret RFXs for vendors and prepare responses to formal inquiries.

Evaluation & Debrief

  • Develop evaluation methodologies, scoring plans, and award recommendations.
  • Review vendor proposals for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Facilitate evaluation committees and coordinate bidder conferences.
  • Document evaluation results, prepare reports, and support vendor debrief sessions.

Post-RFX Activities

  • Support contract negotiation and finalization with selected vendors.
  • Conduct post-procurement reviews and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain complete, auditable procurement and contract records.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations based on lessons learned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–5 years of progressive procurement experience (public sector experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of RFX and competitive bidding processes.
  • Familiarity with the Government of Alberta's procurement policy framework is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Professional designation (e.g., SCMA, CPSM, or equivalent) is considered an asset.

  • Onsite Role: Must be available to work from the Edmonton location.
  • Background Check: A clear criminal record check is required before onboarding.
