Overview

As a Procurement & Logistics Co-op, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the flow of materials and equipment across the organization. Working closely with the Procurement and Operations teams, you will learn how purchasing, shipping, and inventory management come together to support project and production goals. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in supply chain management, ERP systems, and vendor coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Support

  • Assist with sourcing and communicating with suppliers to obtain quotes and lead times.
  • Support the creation and processing of purchase orders through the ERP system.
  • Track and follow up on open orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Help evaluate supplier performance and maintain supplier records.
  • Participate in price comparisons and cost-saving initiatives.

Logistics Coordination

  • Assist with incoming and outgoing shipments, including receiving, inspection, and documentation.
  • Help prepare, pack, and label materials for shipment.
  • Coordinate with carriers and couriers to confirm pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Learn the basics of shipping documentation and regulatory compliance (e.g., customs, TDG).

Inventory Management

  • Support warehouse organization and material tracking.
  • Perform periodic stock counts and reconcile discrepancies using the ERP system.
  • Help update inventory data and generate reports to monitor material movement.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate procurement, shipping, and inventory records.
  • Assist with ERP data entry, report generation, and document filing.
  • Help analyze purchasing trends and logistics performance using ERP reports.

Collaboration & Learning

  • Work closely with internal teams to understand procurement needs and project priorities.
  • Participate in team meetings to learn about supplier management and logistics planning.
  • Contribute to process improvement ideas and help implement better tracking or efficiency tools.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems is an asset.
  • Interest in logistics, purchasing, and materials management.
  • Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
