This Position reports to:

Directeur Ingénierie mécanique
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design or upgrade power electronics cabinets either for new systems or modifications to existing ones.
  • Apply and integrate solutions established by mechanical engineers for structural issues (mounting and support of mechanical parts), thermal issues (ventilation and heat dissipation), piping, shock and vibration (seismic, transport, on-site handling), and magnetic interference.
  • Apply and integrate solutions established by application engineers for electrical design and documents using AutoCAD or E3. Create wiring diagrams and lists; select cable and wire sizes.
  • Prepare cabinet and assembly drawings using Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Creo and site data.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings of parts for sub-suppliers.
  • Prepare manufacturing documentations package for the production (assembly drawings, binders, shop instructions.
  • Prepare material lists (BOM) required for Purchasing using SAP platform.
  • Select materials and components per standards and specifications.
  • Support production, purchasing, and testing during manufacturing.
  • Contribute to product standardization and maintain parts/drawing libraries.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining drawing practices and standards.

Qualificatons:

  • College degree in mechanical or electrical engineering technology.
  • 4–7 years of relevant experience; cabinet design experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of electrical components, sheet metal fabrication, and cabinet standards (NEMA, NFPA 70).
  • Bilingual (French and English, Spanish an asset).

Tools:

  • Solid Edge, Creo 2D/3D, AutoCAD 2D, E3, SAP, MS Office.
