Position Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined AZ Driver to join our lumber yard team. The ideal candidate is a safe and experienced driver who takes pride in maintaining equipment, assisting with yard operations, and ensuring timely and professional delivery of building materials. This position combines driving duties with hands-on mechanical and yard responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving & Delivery:

  • Safely operate AZ trucks to deliver lumber, building materials, and supplies to customer sites and company locations.
  • Secure loads properly and perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company standards.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, logs, and inspection reports.

Yard & Equipment Duties:

  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks using forklifts or other material-handling equipment.
  • Inspect, clean, and perform minor maintenance or repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other yard equipment.
  • Support yard operations including organizing inventory, staging materials, and ensuring a clean and safe work area.
  • Help identify and report mechanical issues early to minimize downtime.

Mechanical & Maintenance:

  • Conduct routine checks and light repairs such as oil changes, brake inspections, tire checks, and minor mechanical fixes.
  • Coordinate with service providers or mechanics for larger repairs when needed.
  • Keep maintenance logs up to date and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid AZ Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
  • Minimum 3 years of AZ driving experience (flatbed or lumber delivery preferred).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and hands-on maintenance skills (automotive or heavy equipment experience an asset).
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other yard equipment (training or certification an asset).
  • Physically fit — able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in outdoor conditions year-round.
  • Strong attention to detail, safety-oriented, and dependable.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week
