Ortona, a busy and upbeat coffee shop and bar in the heart of Walkerville is a growing company and looking to expand. We are looking for someone with experience as an Executive or Head Chef - Italian cooking background a bonus This position requires an individual who is capable of cooking a variety of foods and has the ability to work under pressure. This is one of four establishments in our "restaurant family" so there is lots of opportunity for growth and long-term employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and prepare a variety of dishes, ensuring high-quality food presentation and taste.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed to ensure uninterrupted kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with management and purchasing departments to select and source high-quality ingredients while managing costs and maintaining budgetary guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards, conducting regular inspections and taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Implement and maintain effective kitchen organization, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items to prevent spoilage and waste.
  • Monitor and analyze kitchen operations, identifying areas for improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
