We are currently hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for local and camp-based projects in North East Alberta, including but not limited to experienced:

  • Dozer Operators
  • Excavator Operators
  • Grader Operators
  • Rock Truck Operators
  • Loader Operators
  • Packer Operators

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate equipment such as dozers, excavators, graders, rock trucks, loaders, or packers.
  • Conduct excavation, grading, earthmoving, trenching, backfilling, stockpiling, and compaction tasks.
  • Participate in lease construction, road building, pad preparation, and reclamation projects.
  • Accurately follow grade plans, site stakes, and GPS coordinates.
  • Support ground crews and assist in basic labour activities as necessary.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, basic maintenance, and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to Westcore's safety procedures, field-level hazard assessments (FLHAs), and PPE guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of direct experience operating heavy equipment in civil construction, mining, or oilfield environments.
  • Skilled in varied terrain, including muskeg, winter conditions, soft ground, and steep slopes.
  • Competent with detailed finish grading, trimming, and precise earthmoving operations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply grade plans accurately.
  • Safety-focused, reliable, and able to perform independently in variable conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (clean abstract preferred).
  • Safety certifications: CSTS 2020 (or CSO), First Aid, H2S Alive, Ground Disturbance Level II.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work testing.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions for 10–12-hour shifts.
  • Must provide your own CSA-approved 6" steel-toe work boots.
