Langley BC VA G, Canada GB Projects Full time

GB Projects requires an Excavator Operator to join our team. We are looking for an individual with experience in underground utilities, roadworks and earthworks projects.

You will be working in civil construction on municipal, commercial and private sites within the Greater Vancouver area. You will be taking direction from the Foreman for the installation of pipe for storm, water and sewer, road structures and excavation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Experience with interpreting drawings, setting, and using laser-levels, installation of utilities and civil components, excavating and backfill of structures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and equally motivated working independently.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and show initiative.
  • Self-motivated and dependable with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment including Excavators, Dozers, Skid-steer.
  • Performs daily safety and maintenance checks.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years experience operating heavy equipment/excavator in the road building sector
  • Background of successfully completing complex underground civil utilities (potable water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, district heating), earthworks, road building and other infrastructure projects
  • Strong communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and safety regulations
  • Proficient in the operation of various excavation equipment
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across the lower mainland
  • Maintain quality results of work to be done
  • First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
  • Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.

Salary Range: $42/hour - $52/hour plus benefits

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $42.00-$52.00 per hour
