How You'll Make an Impact
In this role, you'll lead field-based programs and support a variety of environmental projects, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities may include:
- Leading the design, coordination, and execution of environmental field programs.
- Supporting project managers with technical input and task oversight.
- Acting as a Professional of Record for deliverables submitted to clients and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborating with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental compliance.
- Conducting senior-level reviews of technical documents and reports.
- Advising on best practices and regulations related to environmental monitoring, permitting, and restoration.
- Participating in team meetings and working collaboratively across departments.
- Adapting your responsibilities as the business evolves and as you grow within your role.
What You Bring
We're looking for environmental professionals who combine strong technical knowledge with leadership and communication skills. Key qualifications include:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in biology, environmental science, or a related field.
- A recognized professional designation (e.g., R.P.Bio., P.Biol., P.Ag.) in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in environmental consulting.
- Proven ability to work in varied field settings, from remote wilderness to active construction zones.
- Experience in fish sampling, stream assessments, and aquatic habitat evaluations.
- Familiarity with erosion and sediment control techniques, water quality sampling, and environmental inspection.
- Strong technical writing and reporting abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and permitting across multiple jurisdictions.
- Effective interpersonal and mentoring skills; able to support junior team members.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
- Valid Canadian driver's license with ability to travel to field sites.
