Our entry‑level positions provide a glimpse of just how biology‑related field work is conducted within the environmental services consulting industry sector.

Triton is anticipating to be hiring entry‑level environmental professionals to help support our field programs, for the 2025 spring, summer, and early fall seasons. Entry‑level staff are considered for either **Environmental Technician** or **Junior Field Biologist** positions.

Triton is growing and has various office locations, that this role can be based out of, such as **Vancouver BC, Kamloops BC, Vernon BC, Prince George BC, Terrace BC, Kitimat BC, Prince Rupert BC,** **Calgary & Edmonton AB**, **Saskatoon & Regina SK**, **Guelph ON**, **Halifax NS**.

Within these roles, entry level staff will learn how to effectively conduct environmental field work typical for consulting and work alongside a team. Our project teams also work in some of the most beautiful locations in Western Canada and given the nature of our Projects, staff are exposed to a wide range of different opportunities within environmental consulting.

Depending on the specific role, project, and hiring location, typical responsibilities may include the following:

- Assisting biologists with water quality, fish, wildlife, and vegetation assessments
- Supporting environmental monitoring of construction work activities
- Mobilizing and maintaining field gear and equipment
- Supporting bird nest sweeps or fish and/or amphibian salvages, as a crew member
- Collecting, compiling data and reporting data
- Attending project and safety meetings
- Promoting safety culture and complying with safety protocols
- Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, operators, contractors and regulators

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**
- Having graduated with a post-secondary degree or technical diploma, in biology, environmental science, or a related discipline
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, regulators, and co-workers
- Willing to; travel, being away from home, working a field rotational shift schedule, and working for up to 10-12 hours per day
- Being reasonably physically fit and able to conduct field work in all weather conditions (standing, walking, moving, and bending)
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Being able to work as part of a team
- Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
- Experience operating a 4x4 truck is considered an asset.

**SCHEDULE**

Depending upon hiring needs, project requirements, and specific hiring location, the role offered could be a permanent full-time role or a temporary contract role.

**START DATE**

We expect to begin the interview process late winter season and early spring season. Positions will begin in mid-to-late Spring, continue through Summer and potentially through early Fall.

**HOW TO APPLY**

**COMPENSATON**

The pay range can be anywhere from $23 dollars per hour - $29 dollars per hour.

Many of our field staff positions are eligible for additional overtime pay, being in line with specific provincial employment legislation standards.
