The Handyperson is responsible for performing a variety of general maintenance, installation, and repair tasks in our commercial settings to ensure areas are well-maintained and in good working order.

What you'll do

  • General Repairs: Conduct minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and appliance systems.
  • Cleaning: General day to day cleaning of the weld shop, lunchroom and buying coffee supplies.
  • Property Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning of gutters, windows, and pavement.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate hand and power tools, industrial vacuums, and other equipment.
  • Safety & Compliance: Identify potential hazards, ensure safety measures are in place, and comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Maintain an inventory of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Support: Assist skilled trade workers (electricians, plumbers) as needed.

Basic qualifications

  • Experience: At least 1-3 years of experience in general maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using various hand and power tools.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy items, stand, bend, twist, and work from ladders.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, excellent communication, and a positive attitude.

Working Conditions

  • May involve working indoors or outdoors.
  • Requires physical labour, including lifting and repetitive motions.
  • May involve irregular hours.
