Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various painting disciplines, including residential, commercial, restoration, and industrial painting. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, blueprint reading, and the use of hand tools and power tools. The Painter will be responsible for delivering high-quality finishes while adhering to safety standards and project timelines. Candidates with excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service are encouraged to apply.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paint, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other hand tools
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings to accurately execute projects
- Perform restoration work on damaged or aged surfaces to restore their appearance and durability
- Utilize rigging techniques for elevated or hard-to-reach areas safely
- Operate power tools safely and efficiently during preparation and application processes
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure proper surface preparation and finishing
- Maintain a clean work environment and properly store tools and materials after each project
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to ensure project specifications are met
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting, residential painting, commercial painting, restoration, or industrial painting
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction plans
- Proficiency with hand tools such as scrapers, brushes, rollers, caulk guns, and other painting equipment
- Experience with power tools used in surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for working at heights or in difficult locations is a plus
- Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with clients and team members effectively
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments requiring attention to detail
