We are looking for a driven, curious, and effective professional to serve as a Project Controls Director for Life Sciences North America business unit. Ideally the successful candidate will be located nearby one of our major operational centers in Cincinnati, Philadelphia, or Raleigh.

Your Impact

As a direct report to the VP Project Controls – Life Sciences North America, the successful candidate will be an experienced people leader with an excellent track record of delivering superior technical solutions to Clients through a combination their own technical knowledge, expertise and through their ability to lead a team of multidisciplined professionals working together to execute a portfolio of complex projects.

The successful candidate will be accountable for a team of professionals providing the following services

  • Cost forecasting and controls management
  • Scheduling & Planning management for the engineering, procurement, construction management, qualification, and validation phases of major capital projects
  • Progress measurement oversight through the application of earned value analysis
  • Estimating
  • Preconstruction Services
  • Supply chain management to include capital equipment buying, expediting and logistics
  • Subcontracts, and contracts management

Responsibilities will include

  • Providing day to day supervision, guidance, and direction to team members
  • Contributing in all phases of the sales process as required
  • Interfacing with Clients, subcontractors, project, construction, and operations management personnel as required
  • Solving problems, providing solutions, and innovating work processes
  • Attracting, developing, and retaining a diverse and talented workforce
  • Support team leaders and individual team members and help them achieve their goals and objectives, while simultaneously meeting or exceeding Corporate and Client goals and objectives
  • Serve as an escalation point for project teams as required
  • Serve in an advisory role to senior management
  • Effectively present detailed information to Client management as well as to all levels of Jacobs management

Here's what you'll need

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in multiple disciplines within the project services portfolio gained through a series of progressively responsible roles
  • Experience with cost, scheduling, and supply chain management software
  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset
  • Customer focus with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to build, lead and manage a diverse and effective team
  • Resilience and perseverance
  • The courage and energy to lead

Ideally, Here's What You'll Also Have

  • A Bachelor's degree within Business, Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management
  • 20 plus years' experience in the management of Projects and Project Services within the Engineering and Construction Industry
  • Proven track record leading teams of 20 plus resources
  • Previous experience working in Dbases and ERP systems
  • Above average skills in excel and spreadsheet development
  • Working knowledge of Oracle P6 Planning software and MS Projects
  • Ability to lead, innovate and inspire direct reports
  • Ability to converse with Jacobs Senior Leadership and their clients on all matters relating to Project Services, which includes Project Cost, Scheduling, Estimating, Procurement, Sub Contracts Management and Risk Management
