Position Overview:

HotTakes is seeking a part-time
Junior Finance Analyst (Intern)
to join our team. This flexible opportunity is perfect for ambitious individuals—whether you're currently in school or pursuing other ventures—looking to contribute 5–15 hours per week to making a meaningful impact. As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will gain hands-on experience working closely with our CFO, as well as the operations teams, to analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting efforts, and provide insights that drive business growth.

What You'll Do:

• Assist in financial models that are circulated both internally and to external investors.
• Update and categorize monthly expenses across all company bank accounts.
• Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheets and other financial statements.
• Create and send invoices, manage accounts receivable and payables.
• Prepare monthly investor updates and facilitate communications.
• Track and report internal performance metrics to senior management.

  You're motivated to gain hands-on experience in finance and operations, and open to tackling new challenges beyond traditional finance tasks.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in
  Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in
  Excel, Google Suite, and Powerpoint
  (formulas, charts, pivot tables, etc.).
• Excellent
  attention to detail
  and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
• Ability to
  analyze and interpret
  financial statements and performance metrics.
• Basic understanding of
  financial modelling and forecasting
  .
• Strong
  communication skills
  — able to present data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with tools like
  Notion, SEMrush, and Figma
  is an asset, but not required.
• Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Position Details:

• Flexible, part-time hours
  (5–15 hours per week) to accommodate your schedule, whether you're in school or pursuing other opportunities.
• Compensation:
  $24–$32 CAD/hour.
• Timeline and Opportunities for Growth:
  The internship is set to begin in January 2026 and run through July 2026, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position based on performance.
