We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our dynamic, forward-thinking team of Specialty Insurance underwriters in our Toronto office.

SENIOR UNDERWRITER / MANAGER, PROFESSIONAL SOLUTIONS - TORONTO

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Underwriter / Manager to join our Professional Solutions department. This role is a blend of underwriting and business development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting risks while also actively promoting our products, strengthening broker relationships, and driving growth in the Professional Solutions portfolio.

As an integral member of the team, you will bring the ability to:

• Assess, price, and underwrite new and renewal business within delegated authority.
• Analyze financial, legal, and operational information to evaluate risk profiles.
• Structure tailored coverage solutions that meet client and broker needs.
• Ensure underwriting practices comply with company standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with our broker partners and other stakeholders.
• Promote our products through meetings, presentations, and industry events.
• Identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to expand market presence.
• Represent the company as a subject matter expert within the marketplace.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters and team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with claims, actuarial, product development, and marketing teams.
• Learn new product lines and coverages as they are developed.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant industry trends and their impact on products offered

Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience underwriting specialty lines (E&O/Cyber/Technology preferred).
• Bachelor's degree or post-secondary education in communication, business, or insurance preferred.
• Strong broker and market relationships, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in business development and marketing within the insurance industry.
• Leadership or team management experience preferred.
