Wood is currently seeking an Instrumentation & Controls to join our business within BioProducts and Oil and Gas sector focusing on delivering some of the biggest projects in the Canadian oilsands. This opportunity is Onsite at our Vancouver, BC office location.
The Role
Wood is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls EIT in Vancouver, BC to join our busy and growing Projects Canada team due to growth in our business within BioProducts and Oil and Gas. The role of the I&C EIT will be to work on small and large projects with a senior engineer.

Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education, and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
Interfacing with various engineering disciplines
Project Execution may include but not limited to:
Specifying, selecting and sizing field instrumentation (Pres/Temp/Flow/Level)
- Development of instrument datasheets
- Support Senior Engineers in assigned deliverables and tasks
- Preparing instrument lists (I/O, instrument index, load lists, etc)
- Support in the development of Material Take Offs (MTO's)
- Preparing Instrument Loop diagrams and termination wiring
- Support with the development of Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations and award recommendations for various instrumentation commodities

Qualifications

Expected:
- Instrumentation Technologist or Bachelors in Science degree in Engineering from an accredited University or College.
- Willingness to learn and grow within Instrumentation and Control systems
- Minimum of 1 + years of industry experience
- Good understanding of CSA
- Existing experience in the BioProducts or Oil and Gas sector is preferred
- Ability to problem-solve
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
- Experience in the use of AVEVA Instrumentation or Smart Plant Instrumentation is an asset.
- Registration through EGBC or APEGA as an EIT is an asset
