TENG Inc. is a fast growing, medium-size engineering consultant company providing engineering and project management services to multiple industry sectors. We have an immediate need for short- and long-term Piping Designer(s) to report to our HQ's in Mississauga, ON. Base location can be Sarnia, Mississauga or Edmonton.

The successful candidate's roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing project requirements and determine general approach
  • Experienced in the design, 3D modeling and 2D drafting of piping systems to ASME and CSA standards and codes
  • Organized and self-directed, task and goal oriented
  • Effective, efficient, and professional in the execution of all required tasks
  • Defining, and re-define as necessary, the scope of work in co-operation with engineers
  • Proven competency in creating piping drawings (GA, Layouts, and Detail drawings)
  • Reviewing and comprehend flow sheets and/or design layouts
  • Reporting inconsistencies in design specifications and design requirements to design lead, engineers, and/or project manager prior to drawings being issued
  • Ensuring layout conforms to functional requirements
  • Selecting suitable components and equipment
  • Developing installation and routing details, in compliance with applicable codes
  • Coordinating the overall planning of the detailing approach
  • Supervise, mentor and train assigned junior designers
  • Completing drawing checking and squad checking in accordance with company/client standards
  • Writing specifications necessary to create a complete drawing package
  • Providing estimating assistance to engineers
  • Pro-actively seek feedback and learning opportunities from others
  • Turnaround experience an asset
  • Work at Client sites will be required
  • Other duties as required

Education Requirements:

  • Skilled Trade or Relevant College Diploma and/or related work experience
  • 10+ years relevant working experience
  • Preferred Experience with EPC environment supporting Oil & Gas Industry
  • Demonstrable experience with AutoDesk Plant 3D
  • Demonstrable recent AutoCAD 2D drafting experience
