About NuFrame Group
NuFrame Group is a leader in multi-family wood-frame construction across British Columbia. With operations spanning Framing, Concrete, and Pre Fabrication. We deliver high-quality, integrated building systems from start to finish.
Position Overview
We are seeking someone with Wall Panel Design experience to join our NuFrame Pre-fabrication team in Chilliwack. This role sits at the intersection of design leadership, project coordination, and technical problem-solving, bridging the gap between digital design, field construction, and our prefabrication plant.
The ideal candidate brings experience in panelized wall and floor design, project coordination, and wood-frame construction, with the capability to take ownership of design deliverables and help drive high-quality results across the full project lifecycle.
This role is well suited for individuals with background in panel design management, leading design teams, or high-level design coordination who are looking for meaningful responsibility and long-term growth within an expanding organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership & Ownership
- Lead design coordination for wall panels and floor systems throughout preconstruction and construction stages.
- Prepare, review, and issue complete, accurate, and buildable MiTek drawing packages.
- Maintain high standards of quality, constructability, and compliance with BCBC and modern wood-frame assembly practices.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and internal project leaders to ensure alignment with technical requirements and timelines.
Project & Client Coordination
- Act as a primary point of contact during preconstruction for design-related matters.
- Coordinate updates between design, production, and field teams, ensuring seamless communication and clear document control.
- Manage RFIs, site instructions, drawing revisions, and version control.
- Support project teams through kickoff meetings, technical reviews, and active design support through to completion.
Change Management & Technical Support
- Assist with change order documentation, material quantification, and extras submitted to the Project Manager and Operations team.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance to site teams to ensure framing accuracy and adherence to design intent.
Quality, Workflow & Continuous Improvement
- Support consistent workflow in collaboration with our prefab plant, ensuring designs are optimized for panel production.
- Identify issues proactively and contribute to problem-solving and process improvement across the design-to-field workflow.
Qualifications & Experience Required
- 3–5+ years of experience in framing design, panelized systems, structural drafting, or wood construction coordination.
- Proficiency with MiTek (MiTek Canada design software).
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans for multi-family wood-frame structures.
- Experience with project coordination, including communication with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and drive tasks forward.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and file-management tools such as OneDrive or Smartsheet.
Preferred
- Past experience as a Panel Design Manager, Senior Designer, or leading design teams.
- Past experience as a Project Coordinator or Project Manager.
- Experience in pre-fabrication / panel plant workflows.
- Familiarity with BCBC, VBBL, engineered wood products, and modern framing assemblies.
- Background in wood-frame construction/framing experience or digital design for multi-family projects.
- Experience mentoring, supporting, or guiding junior team members.
