**Position Overview**
We are seeking an experienced Design Project Manager/Coordinator to join our NuFrame PreFabrication team in Chilliwack. This position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between design and field operations, ensuring seamless coordination from preconstruction through framing completion.
Working closely with the Project Manager, General Superintendent, and site Foremen, this role is responsible for managing design deliverables, coordinating field communication, and ensuring that each project is executed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with NuFrame’s high standards.
This is a key technical and coordination role suited for someone with a background in framing design, wood structural systems, and construction documentation who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
**Design Ownership**
- Lead and manage wall panel and floor design throughout preconstruction and construction phases.
- Prepare, review, and issue complete, buildable shop drawing packages.
- Coordinate updates and revisions between design, production, and site teams.
**Project Coordination**
- Act as the primary client point of contact through the preconstruction phase.
- Manage RFIs, site instructions, and document control.
- Track and organize all project documentation, ensuring accuracy and version control.
**Change Management**
- Quantify materials and prepare documentation for extra work and change orders.
- Support Project Manager and Operations Manager with timely, well-documented submissions.
**Project Support**
- Attend preconstruction, kickoff, and mid-project coordination meetings as required.
- Provide ongoing design and technical support through project completion.
- Maintain consistent communication with site teams to ensure design intent is achieved.
**Qualifications & Experience**
**Required**
- 3-5 years of experience in framing design, structural drafting, or wood construction coordination.
- Strong understanding of MiTek software, engineered wood products, and panelized wall systems.
- Solid grasp of construction drawings, detailing, and sequencing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and file management tools (OneDrive/Smartsheet preferred).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under pressure.
**Preferred**
- Previous experience in multi-family wood-frame construction.
- Knowledge of BCBC, VBBL, and other relevant codes.
- Experience with project coordination between design and field teams.
- Familiarity with estimating, RFI tracking, and change order documentation.
