Loseca Foundation is currently searching for a full-time Team Leader for a Life Skills and Employment Program for Adults with Developmental Disabilities. Hours are Mon -Fri 8am – 4pm. (This is a temporary position)

The Loseca Foundation has been providing supports to adults with developmental disabilities for over 25 years. We are one of the largest support providers in the Edmonton Area. In addition to our day programs, we also operate number of residential homes in St. Albert and Edmonton and employ approximately 300 staff.

Job Summary:

This is a very exciting challenging job as a Team Leader for our Life Skills and Employment Program. You will be a coach and mentor for a team of dedicated staff providing supports to adults with developmental disabilities. Working in a day program setting, you will lead and be a role model for your team in demonstrating excellent client focused service delivery. This involves supporting the individuals in taking part in activities both at the facility and in the community. These activities are extremely diverse and include instruction and support in a variety of life skills. You will also lead your team in assisting individuals in searching for volunteer and employment opportunities. You must show a high degree of initiative and creativity and be able to multi-task. Very strong scheduling and planning skills are integral to the position You should enjoy working in a unique, often changing environment.

You should also be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and demonstrate the ability to develop a strong rapport and professional relationships with staff, team members, families and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a leadership role in human services
  • Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize and deliver creative solutions.
  • Provide delegation, mentorship and leadership skills
  • High level of professionalism and able to work effectively with others
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience supervising teams
  • Experience working with complex behaviors
  • Strong computer skills and abilities.
  • Creativity in helping others plan activities and creating a fulfilling schedule for individuals involved in the program
  • A vehicle with 1 million liability and valid Operator's License is required

Compensation:

The salary for this position is $30.40/hour
