What You Would Do in This Role

The Application Specialist is a key member of Vista's System Integration (SI) team, contributing to the development and support of digital twins and EPC 4.0 intelligent design systems that leverage both existing and emerging technologies. This role focuses on the configuration, integration, and optimization of engineering and design applications to ensure seamless project execution across disciplines. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Project Management, and IT teams to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that enhance productivity, maintain data integrity, and support digital project execution. Duties include:

  • Liaise with Engineering, Design, Project Management and IT teams to ensure that the implementation of Design Software tools meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain AVEVA and related design software applications to meet project requirements. Typical software includes: AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA E3D, AVEVA Point Cloud Manager, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA Diagrams, AVEVA Administration, AVEVA AIM, etc.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for engineering and design applications
  • Manage AVEVA user creation, access control, and license administration
  • Configure and maintain AVEVA Integration Services (AIS) and associated system integrations
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and application improvement to enhance team efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement digital solutions that integrate data and workflows across systems
  • Maintain documentation for application configurations, user guides, and best practices
  • Performing other duties as required
Requirements
  • Engineering background with an Engineering degree or diploma in Engineering Technology, Management Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, Design, Drafting, Computer Science or Engineering and Design experience
  • Solid understanding of data management and database principles, including experience manipulating large datasets using Excel (e.g. data model connections, pivot tables, filters, and report creation).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot software issues and provide effective user support
  • Passion for learning new technical skills and open to learning emerging software and related technologies as needs arise
  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail in configuration and documentation work
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into practical, sustainable solutions
  • Leverage expertise to design solutions for current and future projects
  • Team player with a positive attitude and always willing to accept new challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
  • Four to eight years of combined education and experience
  • Experience with modelling and design software (e.g., AVEVA, Hexagon, AutoPlant, AutoCAD, etc)
  • Knowledge of industrial engineering workflows, procedures, and deliverables
  • Familiarity with application automation or customization using tools such as .NET, Python, or batch scripting
  • Knowledge of system integration principles and experience connecting applications via web services or APIs
