ASX is looking to enhance the resilience of Australia's financial markets in response to the increasing sophistication and frequency of cyber threats. Recent incidents, both locally and internationally, have underscored the importance of coordinated, industry-wide preparedness and robust crisis management. 

You will manage the ASX program of work responsible for delivering the coordination of cyber exercises with the industry.

This role is responsible for coordinating the ASX operational response to cyber incidents by delivering initiatives that focus on disruption of product or services to internal and external stakeholders.

You will coordinate cyber exercises both internal and with the wider industry that are designed to test response, resumption and recovery plans and processes with participants, critical service providers and linked Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs).

You will focus on supporting operational resilience to improve response and recovery processes, foster collaboration and readiness among all entities in the ecosystem, and identify and track any gaps in current practices or potential emerging issues.

What you'll do:

  • Project manage the coordination of industry wide cyber exercises with the ASX and its stakeholders that are designed to test response, resumption and recovery plans and processes. You will ensure these exercises are delivered on-time and that they meet the underlying objectives as defined by the ASX and our participants.

  • Lead the consultation and communication plan with internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparent engagement and identify clear objectives, roles, responsibilities, and communication throughout the process.

  • Document structured, repeatable exercises into operational planning and define a framework for future planning.

  • Engage a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including participants, linked FMIs, regulators, service providers, and government agencies.

  • Ensure representation from management, technology, compliance, and governance levels across participating entities.

  • Tracking and reporting of actions through to executive level.

  • Track embedment of lessons learned from each exercise into future planning and operational practices.

  • Ensure actions are risk assessed in the enterprise-wide risk platform where appropriate. 

  • Generate post exercise reports suitable for internal and external circulation. 

  • Support compliance with and delivery of regulatory obligations. 

  • Test and validate communication and coordination protocols across all exercise attendees.

  • Identify gaps and assign ownership for remediation.

What you've done:

  • At least 5 years' project management experience in coordinating and delivering cross-organizational or industry-wide exercises or projects.

  • Experience with project management methodologies.

  • Strong skills in scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.

  • Ability to engage with regulators, vendors, and participants.

  • Skilled in stakeholder communication and consensus building.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive-level reporting.

  • Ability to translate technical findings into business impact language.

  • Experience in risk management frameworks.

  • A proven track record in relationship-building, coordination and engagement skills.

  • Previous experience in a high performance, dynamic operational environment.

And if you've got some of this, even better:

  • Understanding of the technical concepts which make up a trading, clearing and settlement platforms.

  • Knowledge of Participant systems, operations and connectivity models across Front, Middle or Back Offices environments.

  • Hands-on experience designing and executing tabletop exercises or cyber drills.

  • Experience using Jira, Salesforce or Confluence.

  • Knowledge of the different participants that comprise the Australian financial markets ecosystem.

  • Previous work in financial services, critical infrastructure, or government sectors.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific cyber regulations.
