Responsibilities & Expectations:  We are looking for a talented Electro-Mechanic technician to join our team. As an Electro-Mechanic for IPS, you will apply innovative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and customer focus to repair industrial AC/DC electric motors, generators, gear boxes, wheel motors and related equipment while supporting our continuous improvement process culture. This is a progressive role that will be filled at the level based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate. 
  • Provide electro-mechanical services on electric motor repairs and rebuild electrical power products.
  • Participate in daily operations discussions on customer products.
  • Organization of workspace, following shop flow structures and services.
  • Training will be provided on specific areas that are identified by the Shop Manager.
  • Perform electro-mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus repairs like electric motors, pumps, and fans.
  • Be able to communicate with Customer Service reps and the Manager on parts required for the job.
  • Ensure proper procedures and standards follow CSA, ISO, EASA, and IPS Standard of Work (SOW) requirements.
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement culture, including the use of UCE 1 & 4 boards.
  • Responsible for following Work plans, OPS scheduling, and time estimates for the work operation.
  • Work with other technicians to meet a common goal in larger repairs and customer expectations.
  • Unmatched Customer Experience of quality and delivery is being met.
  • Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers, understanding the safety hazards of a job.
  • Assistance in some Field service work, installing motors, fans, and other items of a mechanical nature.
  • Adhere to all company HSE and quality policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Must have a strong technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products, prefer experience in mechanical jobs, and/or Millwright/Machinist certifications.The 
  • Electric Motors Service Technician (EMST) designation is strongly preferred. Apprentices will be considered.
  • Must be organized with daily tasks.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate with other staff members about the jobs being performed.
  • Must have their own basic tools to perform the work.  Specialized tools are provided by the company.
  • Must be able to work full-time Monday through Friday and sometimes weekends (overtime), if required.
