Emerald Energy from Waste is a TSSA registered first class power plant that provides safe, reliable, cost-effective energy from waste. Currently we are looking for a talent candidate to join our Operations team.

Job Description: Relief Second class Shift Engineer

This is a salaried management position. Salary rang above $110,000, depending on experience

This job requires working a 40-hours/weekday shift schedule from 600 AM -230 PM, also working on a continental shift schedule on occasion to cover shift as needed. These shifts consist of day shift 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and night shift 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Key responsibilities

· Lead and manage crew members of 2 assistant shift engineers, 2 loader operators and one ash process operator.

· Identifying, diagnosing and resolving operational problems in a timely and effective manner.

· Execute supervisory duties like training and recording, task assignment, performance evaluation on crew members.

· Ensuring the facility is operated in a safe, efficient manner and in compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.

· Assisting with the hiring, disciplining, compensation issues and termination of employees.

· Completing regular inspections of all facility operations.

· Completing shift reports/logs as required.

· Coordinate equipment repair with contractors and maintenance Department

Qualification/Experience:

• Second Class Operating Engineer Certificate.
• At least 3 years of hands-on and supervisory experience in the operation and maintenance of thermal and power generation equipment,
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of municipal solid waste incineration equipment is an asset.
• Experience in the operation and Maintenance of high-pressure Steam boiler, steam turbine generator, gas Turbine generator, Air pollution control system and equipment,
• Experience in the operation of RO and softener water treatment.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards or equivalent experience is necessary
• Proficiency in DCS, PLC control system and continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) is required
• Should be familiar with the operation of DCS and operator interface station.
• Good verbal and written communication skills

· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and maintain high morale among team members

· Ability to take decisive action in a time manner to prevent injury, ensure environmental compliance, and protect equipment during emergencies or unusual situations.

· Develop and update operating procedure, as directed by chief engineer

· Prioritize and direct daily tasks for the operations department

· Scheduling employees to work assignments using both 8-hour and continental shifts as needed,

· Experience with Lock &tag out

· Allocating work assignments to operating employees

· Proficiency with office software

The incumbent must be physically fit to perform this job, aspects of the job are very physically demanding and require the incumbent to access both confined and elevated workplaces.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Occasional 12-hour continental shift

Pay: $95,000.00-$115,063.09 per year
