Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Detailer to join our engineering and construction team. As part of your position, you will be responsible for creating precise steel fabrication drawings and detailed schematics that facilitate efficient manufacturing in a timely manner.

This role requires proficiency in various CAD software and drafting tools, with a focus on Tekla Structures.

Within your role, it is expected that you will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure accurate interpretation of project specifications and seamless communication across all phases of project development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed steel fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures, AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Create accurate schematics and 3D models for structural steel components, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Review project plans, blueprints, and technical documents to produce precise detailing for manufacturing and erection.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to resolve design conflicts or discrepancies during the detailing process.
  • Maintain organized documentation of drawings, revisions, and project files for easy access and version control.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to safety standards, building codes, and client requirements throughout the detailing process.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Structural/Civil Engineering Technology or related field
  • Strong understanding of structural steel design principles and fabrication processes.
  • Proven experience as a Steel Detailer or Draftsman in the construction or manufacturing industry of 10 years.
  • In depth knowledge and ability to use Tekla Structures at a high level.
