- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical reports to identify scope, materials, labour, and equipment needs
- Source and assess subcontractor and supplier pricing, ensuring scope alignment and pricing validity
- Participate in site investigations and pre-bid walkthroughs to evaluate access, logistics, and construction constraints
- Price self-performed construction activities, including shotcrete, slope stabilization systems, grouting, drainage works, and concrete construction
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and field leadership to confirm assumptions, methods, and production rates
- Support bid submissions by meeting deadlines and complying with client and contract requirements
- Assist with transition from estimating to construction by clearly documenting pricing logic, exclusions, and risks
- Contribute to early-phase budgets and feasibility-level estimates for prospective projects
- Help maintain cost histories, production data, and estimating standards to improve accuracy over time

- Use of computers, drawings, and digital documentation on a daily basis
- Standard office conditions with occasional field exposure
- Approximately 25% travel to project sites and meetings
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in construction estimating within heavy civil, geotechnical, or infrastructure environments
