What is the Opportunity?

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and includes leading money managers such as BlueBay Asset Management and Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management. RBC GAM provides global investment management services and solutions to institutional, high-net-worth (HNW), and individual investors through a diverse range of offerings, including separate accounts, pooled funds, mutual funds, hedge funds, exchange-traded funds, and specialty investment strategies.

As a member of the Global Asset Management (GAM) Investment Solutions Leadership team, the Managing Director, HNW Business Initatives will lead RBC GAM business with Phillips Hager & North (PH&N) Investment Counsel (IC) and build relationships with IC teams across Canada.   

What will you do?

• Represent RBC GAM as a member of PH&N IC Investment Committee.
• Provide credible authority on all investment products, asset allocation, market and economic outlook
• Work with Investment Policy and Investment Solutions teams to lead GAM's ongoing effort to integrate asset allocation frameworks
• Responsible for understanding needs of ICs and influencing resources within GAM
• Communicate and position RBC GAM product and business initiatives that are relevant to PH&N IC and advocate for and represent PH&N IC within GAM
• Define and support communication requirements for IC business and work with the Investment Product Advisory Group (IPAG) team to ensure resources are aligned appropriately
• Provide input on content and investment themes that are relevant to HNW clients
• Manage business issues and related investment communications impacting PHN IC
• Build and lead a high-performing team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

• 10+ progressive years of experience in capital markets, mutual fund industry or other investment experience
• University undergraduate degree or equivalent
• Strong business acumen with in-depth knowledge of the investment industry
• Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Strong written communication and presentation skills

 Nice to Have  

• MBA or CFA
• Understanding of RBC GAM products is an asset
• Capital Markets and/or Institutional Sales Background
