Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting store operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The Assistant Store Manager will assist in overseeing daily store activities, managing staff, and executing merchandising strategies to meet business goals.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing team members to ensure high performance and excellent customer service.
- Manage payroll, scheduling, and time management for staff to optimize productivity.
- Oversee merchandising efforts, including pricing strategies, product placement, and inventory management.
- Handle POS transactions, cash handling, and bookkeeping duties accurately.
- Supervise sales activities to meet or exceed sales targets through effective team management and customer engagement.
- Implement marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, provide training & development opportunities, and evaluate employee performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and store procedures.
- Manage purchasing decisions and coordinate with vendors for inventory replenishment.
- Utilize strong communication skills to resolve customer issues promptly and professionally.
- Monitor store budget adherence and assist with financial planning to maximize profitability.
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in retail management or related fields.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising, inventory control, and administrative tasks.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills.
- Effective communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Experience in retail sales, marketing, pricing strategies, and sales management.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations and purchasing decisions.
- Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, training & development processes.
- Familiarity with budgeting, payroll processing, phone etiquette, time management, and organizational skills is preferred. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking growth opportunities within retail management while contributing to a positive shopping experience for customers.

Pay: $18.83-$21.33 per hour
