Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily machine repairs and proper corrective actions. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Education

• Post-Secondary Education in Electrical or Mechanical related courses; and
• Technical Trades Training / Licensed Millwright (433a) with Canadian Apprenticeship preferred.

Years of Experience

• 3+ Years of Maintenance Experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Working Conditions

• Work may involve some exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and loud noises;
• On site environment involves some exposure to hazards of physical risks that require knowledge of and adherence to basic safety procedures and precautions; and
• Work environment requires wearing PPE.

Job Specific Duties

• Responsible for all building maintenance;
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, contractors, motor starters etc., as needed;
• Perform work order repairs, inspection, adjustments and calibrations;
• Use exceptional problem-solving skills to make quick and effective decisions;
• Able to design and fabricate small repair parts;
• Responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance activities on weekly and daily work;
• Maintain and update Down-Time Tracker and predictive and preventative maintenance schedule;
• Notify Production of extended repairs or downtime;
• Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in productive activities;
• Proactively maintain a safe working environment focused on prevention and ensuring continued compliance with Occupation Health and Safety legislation; and
• Any other tasks assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
