MARINE PAINTER
Richmond
Casual - Fixed Term
You are a safety-minded individual responsible for performing all duties related to protective and decorative coating applications at BC Ferries. Your work ranges from painting the exterior and interior of vessels to terminal offices and facilities.
While safely meeting the physical demands of the job, you complete assigned tasks to high standards and with minimal supervision. You anticipate and analyze problems and initiate appropriate solutions. You read plans and drawings to determine painting specifications.
You have a thorough understanding of WCB regulations and safe working practices and working knowledge of relevant materials, tools and equipment. You provide a 'lead hand' role for new employees and helpers; including input in performance assessment and perform additional duties as required.
You hold a relevant BC or Interprovincial Trades Qualification in Painting and Decorating or a 4 th year apprenticeship. You have experience in commercial, industrial or shipyard painting. A valid driver's license is required.
