OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Enterprise Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide technology solutions. This role will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to align technology with organizational goals, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency.

This opportunity is open to both full-time salaried employees and independent contractors.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING IN THE ROLE:

  • Develop and maintain Enterprise Architecture frameworks and governance.
  • Define target-state architectures and roadmaps to support modernization.
  • Align technology decisions with Alberta Courts' strategic and operational goals.
  • Lead architectural assessments, gap analysis, and integration design.
  • Promote architecture standards, principles, and patterns across teams.
  • Provide guidance to solution architects and engineering teams.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend future-state platforms.
  • Support risk management, security alignment, and cost optimization.
  • Model business capabilities, workflows, and domain architectures.
  • Manage technical debt and advise on rationalization opportunities.

WHAT SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO DO THE JOB:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • More than eight years of experience leading cross-functional agile product teams.
  • Over five years architecting, managing, and maintaining enterprise technology platforms.
  • More than eight years of experience identifying and analyzing requirements across multiple architecture domains.
  • More than seven years developing comprehensive documentation for enterprise application architectures.
  • Over seven years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise platform solutions.
  • More than eight years of providing architectural leadership, planning, estimating, and presenting strategies to senior stakeholders.

ASSETS:

  • More than five years collaborating across business and technical teams to optimize architecture.
  • Over five years contributing to enterprise architecture standards and governance.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as an Application Architect within large, complex organizations.
  • Experience with amCharts, Mobile Solution architectures, OWASP Top Ten security practices are considered assets
