1 Permanent Part Time Ward Clerk – Chemotherapy/IV Infusion Clinic

Position Information:
The Chemo Ward Clerk is responsible for screening and booking all new oncology treatment referrals from London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP) based on program criteria.
Essential Job Functions:
- Registers patients to chemotherapy/IV infusion clinic or other adhoc clinics (ie Palliative care outreach, Medical Oncology) as directed by program criteria
- Acts as a receptionist for the chemotherapy/IV infusion clinic, answering inquiries of a general nature by patients, visitors, other departments, nursing staff and physicians assisting in a friendly and cooperative manner
Receives all in coming referrals and schedules required appointments.
Prepares laboratory and DI requisitions
- Requisitions supplies and coordinates any equipment and maintenance services
Qualifications:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Medical Terminology mandatory.
- Knowledge of Cerner patient booking/registration system
- Knowledge of systemic chemotherapy regimens
- Knowledge of Cerner chemotherapy scheduling system (Powerchart Oncology)
- 2 years experience in hospital or ambulatory clinic ward clerk setting
- Proficient computer skills especially Microsoft Word and Excel
- Knowledge of Personal Health Information Protection Act
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skill.
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Ability to multitask
- Knowledge of, and ability to apply CQI concepts
- Satisfactory vulnerable person's sector criminal background check.
- Internal candidates must have satisfactory attendance and performance appraisal in current position.
