Field Service Engineer / Technician – Quality Control Systems (QCS)

Ontario, Canada

Join a technical support team where you'll deliver field service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and system support for critical quality control platforms. This is a permanent, long-term role based onsite in Ontario, with real impact and opportunity to exercise your technical skills daily.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide field service and site support for Quality Control Systems (QCS), including break-fix and preventive maintenance.
  • Perform configuration, diagnostics, and system troubleshooting on live industrial control equipment.
  • Respond to technical issues swiftly to maintain operational continuity.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to diagnose root causes.
  • Complete and maintain accurate service documentation and activity reports.
  • Participate in scheduled on-call rotations (nights/weekends) as required.

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should meet at least 4 of the following 5 criteria:

  • Hands-on experience supporting one or more QCS platforms (e.g., Measurex, DaVinci, MXProLine, QCS)
  • Prior field service or site support experience (break-fix + preventive maintenance)
  • Strong electro-mechanical background (instrumentation, electrical systems, controls)
  • Willingness to be on-call (nights/weekends) and hold a valid Canadian driver's license
  • Proven ability troubleshooting and supporting control systems in a live operational environment

Preferred Experience

  • Hands-on work with instrumentation, actuators, scanners, calibration, and electrical systems
  • Experience in diagnosing hardware and network interfacing issues
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and own end-to-end problem resolution

Working Conditions

  • This position is fully onsite at a remote location with daily technical support responsibilities.
  • Field environment with exposure to industrial equipment and systems.
  • On-call support will include nights and weekend availability.
