CHILD CARE/RESOURCE WORKER

Full-time Position in Cochrane

As a member of the Child Care team, the successful candidate will be required to provide a broad spectrum of children's services. The Child Care/Resource Worker (specifically kinship services) provides preventative and protective intervention services to and on behalf of children who are the care of the Agency's child protection services and approved placements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for assessing and supporting kinship families and the child or youth in that said placement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work, or a Baccalaureate in Social Work is preferred.
  • A College Diploma in Social Services may be considered along with other relevant university degrees or diplomas deemed suitable by the Executive Director.
  • Experience working with children, youth and families is considered an asset.
  • Able to interpret and apply relevant legislation including, but not limited to the Child, Youth and Family Service Act and Ministry of Children and Youth Services standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English /French) is asset.
  • Must have a valid Class G driver's license and use of own vehicle.

À titre de membre de l'équipe de soins aux enfants, la candidate retenue ou le candidat retenu devra fournir un large éventail de services à l'enfance. La travailleuse en soins aux enfants et de ressources ou le travailleur en soins aux enfants et de ressources (en particulier les services de placement chez un proche) fournit des services d'intervention quant à la prévention et à la protection aux enfants et au nom des enfants qui sont pris en charge par les services de protection de l'enfance et par les placements approuvés de l'organisme. La candidate retenue ou le candidat retenu sera également chargé d'évaluer et de soutenir les familles offrant un placement chez un proche et l'enfant ou le jeune qui y est placé.

EXIGENCES DE L'EMPLOI (QUALITÉS ET COMPÉTENCES REQUISES) :

  • Une maîtrise en travail social ou un baccalauréat en travail social est préférable.
  • Un diplôme collégial en travail social pourrait être considéré, de même que d'autres grades ou diplômes universitaires jugés convenables par le directeur général.
  • Expérience de travail auprès des enfants, jeunes et familles est considéré un atout.
  • La capacité d'interpréter et d'appliquer les exigences législatives pertinentes, y compris, mais sans s'y limiter, la Loi sur les services à l'enfance, à la jeunesse et à la famille et les normes du Ministère des Services à l'enfance et des Services sociaux et communautaires.
  • CExcellentes aptitudes à communiquer, excellent entregent et excellent sens de l'organisation.
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais et français) est atout.
  • Permis de conduire valide de la catégorie G et utilisation de son propre véhicule.
