Summary of position: The Grow in team performs a variety of labor related tasks to effectively manage Golf Course development. The selected candidate will have a strong passion for the industry, showing high level of energy that overflow into how he/she delivers results in the field. For 2024, we are conducting a spring seeding of 9 holes of Golf expansion, with an additional 9 holes to follow in 2025. This position could grow into longer term employment if desired.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Must be enrolled in the Turf Grass Management course at a Canadian accredited secondary school
  • Experience in the golf course industry an asset
  • Basic understanding of the game of golf, golf course layout is an asset
  • Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50lbs as required
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all types of weather

Responsibilities:

  • Mowing of seeded turf areas, water turf using irrigation system via controls, hoses etc
  • Assist with on-going irrigation system maintenance and troubleshooting & repairs where needed
  • Operate power equipment including, but not limited to, utility vehicles, walk mowers, ride on mowers, tractors
  • Assist with application of fertilizers for establishment of turfgrasses
  • Assist with spot seeding of thin areas where required
  • Conduct daily inspections on vehicles, tools, and equipment and report problems to supervisor
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations on the work site
  • Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor within the golf course properties
