Labourer - Modular Construction

Fero International is a modular construction company based in Stoney Creek, Ontario. In our 300,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility that was purpose-built for modular, we design and manufacture volumetric modular buildings for diverse markets across Canada, including healthcare, education, housing, commercial and industrial. Our modular solutions reduce construction time, improve quality control, and promote sustainable building practices.

Position Overview:

The Labourer is responsible for performing general labourer tasks while ensuring quality, efficiency and production objectives are achieved by following the appropriate building code regulations, best practices and Fero standards.

Key Accountabilities:

• Perform general labourer tasks and installation on modular buildings and other projects.
• Work collaboratively to ensure efficiency in the build process.
• Support various trades and/or subcontractors with daily tasks including flooring, drywall, insulation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
• Safely use various power tools including, but not limited to drills, saws pneumatic tools including, nail guns, staple guns and hand tools when required.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
• Identify and communicate production problems as they arise and take action to correct upon approval from the Supervisor or Production Manager.
• Document and report on completed tasks, keeping accurate records of work performed.
• Participate in both in-person and online training programs and consistently adhere to all health and safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.
• May perform other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

Qualifications :

• Previous labourer experience.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Basic knowledge of building codes and regulations.
• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment used in the trade.
• Knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable with technology and MS Office applications; knowledge of Fieldwire is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs .
• Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors.
• Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use.
• Working at heights.
• Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
