We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Development Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for building the Bandwidth Manager, a critical component of the Telesat Lightspeed constellation's SDN control plane. This role offers the opportunity to shape a cutting-edge solution that enables customers to schedule and manage bandwidth pools across specific geographic regions, ensuring compliance with service-level commitments and dynamically adjusting resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of the Bandwidth Manager.
  • Drive integration of the Bandwidth Manager with key systems including OSS, orchestration platforms, telemetry frameworks, and BSS environments.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless interoperability and alignment with broader SDN architecture goals.
  • Champion agile development practices, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and strategic direction to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of the solution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in software development ideally in the realm of SDN control planes.
  • Proven expertise in Agile SAFe, software, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of OSS/BSS systems, orchestration, and telemetry integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • A team-first mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
