About the Opportunity

Sandfield Place is seeking Dietary Aides and cooks. We offer a competitive salary range, Pension plan, and access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The current position offers the potential to cover and pick up shifts based on need (sick call, vacation leave, etc...). We have a variety of shifts (day shift 6-2pm, and evenings 2-930pm). We will be expanding our site in 2026 and therefore will be seeking more people for various roles.

Descriptions

Under the direction of the Food and Nutrition Manager, you will participate in providing nutritional care to our residents by carrying out food preparation and food service duties including:

· Food portioning, minor food preparation/texture modification, special nourishment preparation.

  • Operating food preparation equipment
  • Practicing principles of hygiene and safe food handling
  • Assisting with food service at mealtimes
  • keeping food preparation areas clean and sanitary
  • Assisting in receiving and storing dietary deliveries
  • Recognizing safety hazards and promoting a safe environment for residents and staff

· Maintaining cleaning schedule and completing HACCP records,

· Garbage and recycling removal.

· Dish washing and clean-up (as required), pot washing, steam line

· Setting tables, removing soiled dishes & washing tables.

· Provide exceptional customer service.

· Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

· Food Handling Certificate from EOHU

· Team player, able to accept direction and stay on task

· Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

· Responsible and punctual

  • Experience in food service is considered an asset
  • Covid vaccination required (2 doses)
  • Criminal Background Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.69-$23.13 per hour
