**About the Opportunity**

Sandfield Place is seeking a Dietary Aide to join our accomplished team.

Under the direction of the Food and Nutrition Manager, you will participate in providing top notch nutritional care to our residents by carrying out food preparation and food service duties.

The dietary aide position is responsible for the preparation of the breakfast meal, including dessert and salad items, in accordance with both regular and special diet textures. They are also responsible for serving lunch meals to the residents, proper washing and sanitizing of the dishes, and general cleaning within the kitchen.

This is a permanent part-time position (6-2pm), with a guarantee of 37.5hrs biweekly. Additional hours are available through call-in procedure. Starting rate of pay is $18.38 per hour plus in lieu of benefits, with terms and conditions of employment per Collective Agreement.

**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED**:

- Successful completion of Food Service Worker Certificate from a recognized College (or commitment to obtain this within a specified period of time, as required under Ontario Long Term Care Homes Act).
- Team player, able to accept direction and stay on task.
- Ability to read and write effectively.
- Responsible and punctual, good attendance.
- Good organizational skills, and be able to understand directions.
- Experience in food service and food knowledge is considered an asset.

**Salary**: $18.38-$21.13 per hour
