Western Weed Control is hiring a Full-Time Seasonal Vegetation Management Technician to support our field crews across the Lower Mainland. This role is ideal for someone in their career who wants to work hard, learn multiple aspects of the business, and grow through performance.

At a minimum, we're looking for someone who can commit to the full season.

At best, this role can develop into a long-term position with increased responsibility, performance-based earnings, and benefits.

Schedule & Role Overview

  • Full-Time Seasonal: March–December
  • Schedule: Mix of daytime and evening work
  • Includes starting as a swamper/helper on night crews
  • Daytime work may include vegetation management, landscaping, and site work
  • Location: Maple Ridge / Coquitlam yard, projects across the Lower Mainland

Flexibility and reliability are important. Schedules can shift based on weather and project needs.

What You'll Do

  • Support night crews as a swamper/helper
  • Assist with vegetation management and invasive plant control
  • Operate trucks and specialized equipment (herbicide and non-herbicide work)
  • Perform hands-on field work using mechanical tools and equipment
  • Help maintain clean, organized trucks, tools, and job sites
  • Follow established procedures and safety practices

Skills and Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation (bonus if you can tow a trailer)
  • Comfortable with early mornings, evenings, and occasional night shifts
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset
  • Willingness to pursue additional training (e.g. pesticide applicator ticket) if the role is a good fit

Compensation

  • $30 - $35/hr (based on experience)
