The Role

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with data-heavy experience to help build scalable, performant, and intelligent software that drives our core MRVR platform. This is a cross-functional, hands-on role where you'll be responsible for delivering production-grade features across our modern stack, with a strong focus on data-intensive systems.

As a key member of our Engineering team, you'll shape end-to-end product architecture, contribute to technical strategy, and collaborate with product teams to deliver impactful features. Your Influence

  • Design and Build Backend Solutions: Lead development using , building reliable and performant services that integrate seamlessly with our data pipeline and geospatial analytics platforms.
  • Data-Driven Engineering: Leverage your experience with large-scale data systems to architect features that depend on dynamic, real-time, and batch data processing from IoT, satellite, and drone sources.
  • Backend Leadership: Build serverless backend services on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3), following domain-driven design and event-driven architecture.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform and other DevOps tools to define and manage infrastructure, ensuring resilience, repeatability, and scalability across environments.
  • API and Data Access Layer: Contribute to building performant REST and GraphQL APIs to serve both external clients and internal tools.
  • Quality and Observability: Write clean, testable code, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines. Embrace monitoring, logging, and error tracking to ensure platform health.
  • Technical Mentorship: Act as a technical mentor and thought leader, sharing knowledge and best practices across the Engineering team.

Your Experience

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in backend development, with a strong data engineering focus.
  • Deep experience in
  • Proven experience building scalable serverless applications on AWS (e.g. Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway).
  • Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including ELT/ETL pipelines, real-time processing, and time-series data management.
  • Experience designing and maintaining APIs (REST and GraphQL) and integrating with complex backend systems.
  • Strong database knowledge, both relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (DynamoDB, DuckDB, etc.)
  • Familiarity with DevOps and IaC using Terraform or similar tools.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across the product lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering best practices: testing, CI/CD, Git workflows, and documentation.
