JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Operations North, or designate, the Program Manager will oversee client programs in their respective location.
DUTIES:
Oversight of programming including but, not limited to the following:
- Oversee program delivery per funder agreement and JHSS standards
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners.
- Case management support and oversight
- Assist with program crisis intervention and behavioral support
- Promote programming to community partners where applicable
- Supervision and coaching of frontline program staff including hiring
- On-boarding of new program employees
- Planning and implementing ongoing employee training
- Revision of staff timesheet when required.
- Complete reporting as required by program
- Work with the Director of Operations and provincial team members to deliver consistent programming that aligns with JHSS mission, vision, and values.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ASSETS:
- Working knowledge of the Mission, Vision and Values of the John Howard Society of Saskatchewan.
- Working knowledge of the characteristics of disadvantaged persons.
- Working knowledge of Restorative Justice and Harm Reduction practices.
- Understanding and commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action.
- Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Exceptional writing and case management skills.
- Strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate professionally.
- Resourceful, flexible, and well organized.
- Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude.
- Ability to make sound, timely, and accurate judgment while navigating crisis.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must maintain a positive relationship with clients, other staff, businesses, and government agencies.
- Demonstrate empathy for those impacted by the Criminal Justice System.
QUALIFICATIONS: A combination of the following:
Education:
- Secondary education from Saskatchewan Polytechnic or Community Colleges, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1 year of practical experience.
Practical Experience:
- Working knowledge and experience with individuals impacted by socio-economic issues, including: homelessness, trauma, addiction, mental health, poverty, and the child welfare system.
- Working with a range of diverse clients, indiscriminate of: age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities, socio-economic status, religious preference, etc.
Other:
- First Aid, ASIST, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, Food Safe would be considered an asset.
- Valid / Insurable Saskatchewan Driver's License, insurable to drive clients in JHSS-owned vehicles.
- Cleared Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, completed three (3) months prior to start date.
Capability:
- Computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Requires flexibility and should be able to work varying shifts.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Work on a rotating schedule with Managers and Directors to provide oncall coverage after hours.
