We are a growing virtual bookkeeping firm with some onsite client components, looking for a highly motivated Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with an excellent opportunity for professional growth as we continue to expand.
About the Role:
The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing client accounts, performing full-cycle bookkeeping, and working directly with business owners to provide accurate financial information. While our firm operates primarily virtually, this role requires some onsite client work. The position will begin as a hybrid role (remote work and onsite at client locations).
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle bookkeeping including AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
- Preparation of HST returns, financial reports, and year-end working papers.
- Client communication and support, ensuring timely and accurate financial data.
- Maintain and organize financial records for multiple clients across industries.
- Use AI-driven tools to improve reporting, efficiency, and workflows.
- Collaborate with managers and other bookkeepers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience (multi-client environment an asset).
- Must have HST Review and remittance Experience
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Sage, or other bookkeeping platforms.
- Experience with payroll, reconciliations, and government filings (HST, source deductions, etc.).
- Familiarity or interest in leveraging AI tools for bookkeeping and reporting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Employee will need to join CPB Canada (Canadian Professional Bookkeepers of Canada) and achieve the Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) designation within 6 months of hire. (The firm will fully cover the costs of the CPB designation)
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required (travel to client sites).
