Who we are:

Metrolinx's GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.

What You'll Do:

· Develop field data into as-built or layout reports

· Work closely with surveyors in the field, from assisting in field work to processing data

· Operate computer-assisted design (CAD) and drafting workstations

· Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, or field data

· Develop and prepare design sketches

· Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets

· Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data

· Extract information from designs for use in the field

· Write technical reports

· Supervise and train other technologists, technicians and drafters.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

· Minimum of one year of AutoCAD drafting experience.

· Surveying field experience is considered an asset.

· Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering or Architectural program.

· Strong proficiency with AutoCAD software and experience customizing AutoCAD, scripts, tools and Menu's.

· Willingness to work on site as needed, either in the field or out of a field office.

· Basic understanding of municipality standards is considered an asset.

· Experience with major civil infrastructure projects is considered an asset.

· Proficient with the use of computers and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel).

· Good understanding of how to read civil engineering drawings and site plans.

· Excellent safety and attendance record and previously demonstrated strong safety awareness.

· Class G driver's license.
