Role Overview
The Office General Manager – Operations & HR Generalist is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for the smooth day-to-day functioning of the office, internal operations, and human resources processes. This position serves as the operational backbone of the organization, ensuring efficiency, compliance, employee support, and organizational alignment across departments.
The role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can balance strategic thinking with execution, manage multiple priorities, and act as a trusted partner to leadership and staff. The individual will oversee office management, operational workflows, HR administration, employee relations, and compliance, while fostering a positive, productive, and professional workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Office & Facilities Management
- Oversee all daily office operations to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient workplace
- Manage office facilities, including maintenance, cleaning services, security, utilities, and space planning
- Coordinate vendor relationships (office supplies, IT support, facilities, benefits providers, etc.)
- Maintain inventory of office equipment and supplies; manage purchasing and cost control
- Ensure office policies, procedures, and standards are consistently followed
- Serve as the primary point of contact for onsite staff needs and office-related issues
Operations Management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve internal operational processes and workflows
- Support leadership in operational planning, execution, and performance tracking
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions to improve productivity and cost effectiveness
- Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment and timely execution of initiatives
- Manage operational documentation, SOPs, and internal controls
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and vendor cost negotiations
- Ensure operational compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
Human Resources (HR Generalist) Responsibilities
Talent & Workforce Administration
- Manage full employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and internal transitions
- Coordinate recruitment logistics, interview scheduling, and hiring documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
- Ensure timely completion of employment paperwork and compliance documentation
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace issues
- Support conflict resolution and employee relations matters with professionalism and confidentiality
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture
- Assist leadership with performance management processes and documentation
Policies, Compliance & HR Operations
- Maintain and update employee handbook, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, workplace regulations, and internal standards
- Coordinate benefits administration, enrollments, and employee communications
- Support audits, reporting, and compliance requirements as needed
Leadership & Communication
- Act as a liaison between leadership and staff on operational and HR matters
- Provide regular updates and insights to leadership regarding office operations and workforce needs
- Support change management initiatives and company growth efforts
- Lead by example, modeling professionalism, accountability, and discretion
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years of experience in office management, operations, HR generalist, or similar multifaceted roles
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment compliance, and workplace policies
- Proven experience managing office operations and vendor relationships
- Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information
- Proficiency with common office software, HRIS systems, and operational tools
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent)
- Experience in a growing or fast-paced organization
- Prior experience supporting executive leadership
- Background in process improvement or operational scaling
