Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development and be committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow. Key Responsibilities: Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of childrenEngage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing craftsPrepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periodsAssist with proper eating, dressing and toilet habitsSubmit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisorsMaintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking dutiesAttend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of childrenMay assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records. Qualifications: - Early Childhood Education diploma or certificate from a recognized institution - Minimum of 1 year experience working in a childcare or early childhood education setting - Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities - Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues - Strong organizational and time-management skills - Valid First Aid and CPR certification - Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening Working Conditions: This is a full-time position, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The Early Childhood Assistant will primarily work in a classroom setting, with occasional outdoor activities. The position is located in Ontario, Canada.
