You will be leading the finance and accounting team, delivering improved financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, annual compilation engagements, and audits.We are looking for a strategic player, with a holistic forward-looking view of the business, and an expert in financial reporting and subsequent financial result elaboration.Your role will include, but is not limited to:Internal Accounting FunctionsOverseeing day-to-day accounting activities such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, payroll and expenses, tax filings, including corporate income, and GST/PST/HSTOverseeing treasury and cash management activitiesDeveloping, managing, and reviewing financial controlsDeveloping and maintaining accounting policies and procedures to improve internal controlsLeading and developing a robust internal finance functionFinancial ReportingManaging the compilation and review of annual financial statementsPreparing monthly financial reporting and internal KPIs as requiredCoordinating the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and performance analysis activitiesAccounting and Tax ComplianceLeading the annual financial Audit and Review engagements (ASPE), and assisting with other accounting engagements as applicableResearching technical accounting issues for complianceCoordinating and reviewing basic tax compliance, including corporate taxes, payroll, GST and forms reportingFinancial Advisory functionsProviding key insights for business improvement for a variety of companies within the groupLeading and developing cost management and profitability improvement initiativesPreparing and presenting analyses to support senior management’s strategic decision-making processAdvise senior management on complex structuring, finance and accounting issuesRequired Skills, Knowledge or ExperienceA bachelor’s degree in business/finance/accounting or a related fieldAccounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years of Controllership experience.Knowledge of ASPE and IFRS is requiredOther financial designations are a plusExperience dealing with international subsidiaries and operations is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailExcellent internal and external relationship management skills.Strong analytical, decision making, planning, and organizational skills.Comfortable working with autonomy and ownership in a fast-paced environment, taking the initiative to resolve issuesSalary & Benefits$180,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on experienceBonus linked to personal performanceExtended health benefitsPosition TypeType: Permanent, Full-Time, HybridWork Location: Langley, BCStart Date: ImmediatePlease note: Candidates must be currently authorized to work in Canada.We are an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
