This is a hands-on manufacturing support role involving regular operation of automated and traditional bandsaws, material handling, and material receiving, with close coordination alongside machinists and production teams. This role reports to the Shop Foreman. We are hiring for attitude and long-term potential. While prior experience is valued, we are equally happy to train motivated candidates seeking an entry-level opportunity in a manufacturing environment. As an AS9100 aerospace-certified manufacturer, Mahler takes material traceability seriously. The Material Receiver & Saw Operator is responsible for maintaining full material traceability by verifying material certifications, recording heat and lot information, and updating our ERP system to support aerospace-grade quality requirements and ensure 100% traceability. This role requires strong coordination with machinists and the purchasing team, making clear communication and teamwork essential. The Material Receiver & Saw Operator plays a vital role in our organization. As a supply chain partner to over 100 Canadian and US OEM customers, we operate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Candidates must be comfortable adapting to changing priorities and working collaboratively with the broader shop team. Approximately two-thirds of the role is focused on material receiving and saw operation. The remaining time is spent supporting production activities on the shop floor, including assisting machinists, finishing, and shipping as needed. In addition to receiving and saw work, this role supports light manufacturing activities such as material movement, basic finishing support, and general shop assistance. Regular forklift operation is required as part of the role with training and certification provided as required. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to be involved in how parts are made, not just moved, and is seeking a stable, long-term career with a growing company. As Mahler continues to expand, there will be opportunities for advancement into shipping, production, or other manufacturing support roles.Key Responsibilities:Operate automated and manual horizontal bandsaws to cut raw material to size prior to CNC machiningReceive raw material into the ERP system, verifying material type, size, and heat/lot information against purchase orders and certificationsMaintain full material traceability in accordance with AS9100 requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe saw room, including raw material for active work orders and general stockMove raw material throughout the shop to required production locations including use of a forklift and pallet jacksSupport production activities on the shop floor, including assisting machinists and finishing as neededAssist the shipping department with packaging and preparing orders for customer delivery when requiredParticipate in basic equipment maintenance and general shop support activitiesWith training, provide coverage for the Shipping Manager during vacations or absences, including preparing shipping documents and arranging courier deliveriesDrive the company vehicle for customer deliveries and pickups when required Requirements:1–2 years in a manufacturing, warehouse or shop environment Class 5 driver’s licence Physically able to lift and move heavy objects Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures Self‑starter with the ability to work independently Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset Safety‑conscious and able to follow instructions Comfortable working in a busy, loud production environment Candidates should review our core values before applying: https://mahler-machining.com/company/ Compensation and Benefits:$20–25/hr with opportunities for overtime Extended health and dental benefits, plus health and lifestyle spending accounts Life insurance and disability insurance Paid vacation starting at 2 weeks, increasing to 3 weeks at 5 years Discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance Employee uniforms and safety equipment Safety boot allowance Company events and offsites About the Company:Mahler Machining is one of Western Canada’s leading manufacturers of precision machined components.
